Protect What You’re Building

I’m not saying you need to spend all day and night working towards whatever goals you have. That can get unhealthy.

Working towards a better mindset takes time, and while you’re working, you need to protect what you’re building.

Otherwise, you might find what you worked so hard to create doesn’t last long.

Your mindset is your castle. We need to protect it.

Actions, environments, routines, and habits are all how you can make or break your mindset.

Let’s dive into it further.

Actions:

If you want bigger biceps and don’t do any bicep curls, are you going to hit that goal? No.

You can’t expect results for actions you don’t take.

Spend at least a few hours of your day working towards whatever it is you set your sights on.

If you want to go full caveman mode and spend all day working go ahead, although not recommended.

Environments:

First and foremost, there’s no need to cut off your friends/family. Unless there’s a horrible relationship there, then, maybe.

The progress you start to make will help you do that naturally. If people want to stick around, great. If they don’t, great.

What we can’t do, if you’re serious about hitting your goals, is constantly hang out in environments that don’t support what you’re trying to do.

Plenty of times I’ve seen people get out of negative environments and become a different person not long afterwards.

Habits/Routines:

I grouped them together because they’re similar, but not the same.

The difference is that a routine is intentional, and a habit is just an automatic action triggered by a cue.

Both are repeated actions taken throughout the day that can determine how it’s going to go for you.

Let’s say in the morning you get up, drink a beer, eat some pizza, and play video games until noon.

That’s a terrible routine.

What if you get up, shower, eat something healthy, listen to a podcast, and then work on your business for a couple of hours.

I’d say that is much better than the former.

Routines transform into habits after a long enough period of time. Let’s make good routines into good habits.

As you build your mindset, build your life around it simultaneously.

They’re both a direct reflection of one another.

A poor mindset can lead to a poor life, and vice versa.

Protect your mind, as your mind will protect you when needed.

Forever learning, always building,
